Coral Beach Club Trip

Our family recently embarked on an overnight stay at Azure Urban Resort Residences . Excitement filled the air as we anticipated our trip. However, we received surprising news upon arrival. We learned we could not use the pool the next day. Since our kids were eager to swim, we had to find another option quickly. And this is what we would later call our Coral Beach Club Trip.

My wife asked me about driving to Lian, Batangas. Although it felt far, I pondered the situation. After all, summer had arrived, and we had five kids full of energy. We decided to take the plunge and hit the road.

On our second and final day at Azure, we packed up and left around 12:30 PM.

We enjoyed lunch during our drive and arrived at Coral Beach Club shortly after 2 PM. The excitement of the kids made the drive feel shorter. Upon checking in, we secured two premier rooms side by side. The access doors between the rooms opened, allowing us easy access without stepping outside.

Once settled, we appreciated the amenities. The Wi-Fi worked well, a pleasant surprise for a family getaway.

I always remind myself to avoid work during vacations, regardless of their length. The reliable Wi-Fi tempted me to check emails, but I resisted. The hot water from the faucet made showering enjoyable after our long drive. However, we found the air conditioning needed some adjusting. Despite that minor hiccup, our stay at Coral Beach Club was great.

As we enjoyed our time, I learned about Coral Beach Club’s intriguing history.

Rumor has it that the club was once the unofficial headquarters of the ‘Philippines Flying Boat Club’ shortly after World War II. However, the actual Club took shape in the 1980s, thanks to a German couple named Helga and Helmut Kilinger.

In its early years, the Club attracted a unique group of expat businessmen. Many of them lived in Manila and frequented the Club on weekends. They played golf during the day and relaxed in the Club at night. This vibrant community contributed significantly to the club’s early development.

In 1993, a consortium of guests formed under the leadership of John Sinclair.

They purchased the Club, which at the time had only six rooms and a small clubhouse. Over the next two decades, they expanded the facility considerably. The new owners added three accommodation blocks and enhanced the clubhouse. They even built a beautiful pool and a relaxing Jacuzzi for guests to enjoy.

Each new room received a name inspired by famous golf courses in the Philippines and abroad. Many rooms pay tribute to renowned golfers, recognizing the significant role golf played in the Club’s evolution.

This historical backdrop added depth to our stay. Each corner of the Club exuded a sense of legacy and charm.

As the sun began to set, we settled by the beach, watching the waves roll in. The tranquil atmosphere made it easy to unwind. Our kids splashed in the shallow water while we enjoyed the view.

After a fun-filled day at Coral Beach Club, we felt grateful for our spontaneous decision to visit. The experience reminded us of the importance of family time and creating lasting memories. As we drove back home, the laughter and joy from our adventure lingered in our hearts. Coral Beach Club provided us with a perfect getaway, filled with relaxation and fun.

Despite the initial hiccup with the pool, we found a wonderful alternative. Coral Beach Club’s history, charm, and inviting atmosphere made our stay truly special. We returned home with happy hearts and stories to share, eager to plan our next family getaway.
