La Mesa Ecopark and Watershed Nature Reserve

 Quezon City Controlled Disposal Facility

For many years, the Payatas Dumpsite had been misused resulting into a tragedy that took hundreds of lives and dreams. A very depressing scenario which served as a wakeup call to change generations of abused land use. With the Republic Act 9003 also known as the Ecological Solid Waste Act of 2000 put into law, together, with great determination and spirit of the local government of Quezon City to take care of the people and keep the city clean, major pioneering projects and activities were initiated that started the environmental and social transformation of the Payatas Dumpsite. From scavengers to entrepreneurs, from child labourers to soccer players and from being a pollutant to the environment to turning trash into a clean and green energy with the help of Pangea Green Energy Philippines, Now, the Quezon City Controlled Disposal Facility became the new face of the Old Payatas Dumpsite. From landfill to a display of environmental and social transformation, this was made possible by the cooperation of all stakeholders and advocates for a clean environment. Moreover, this was recognized and awarded by many organizations and government institutions for the best practices that they showed. All of these and more, the QUEZON CITY CONTROLLED DISPOSAL FACILITY still thrives to d o more and continue to help improve the way and quality of the environment and living in the city.

Quezon Memorial Circle

The central park of the city that is best known for being house to the shrine, museum and remains of former President Manuel Luis Quezon. It is now the site of the new modern QCX MUSEUM to exhibit the city’s historical and cultural heritage and President Quezon’s heritage house open for public viewing. Likewise, with several renovation, the park served as a perfect getaway for family with its wide array of interests i.e. cycling, disco dancing, various sports, aerobic sessions, etc.

Ninoy Aquino Parks & Wildlife Center

The Ninoy Aquino Parks & Wildlife Center, named after the late Senator Benigno S. “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. is a zoological and botanical garden located in Diliman, Quezon City. The park houses several indigenous plants and animals and serves as a temporary shelter for confiscated, retrieved, donated, sick, abandoned, and injured wild animals. Aside from its rescue center and a four-hectare lagoon that doubles as a fishing grove, the park’s sprawling, tree-filled landscape provides excellent picnic and outdoor recreational grounds. It is also a common site for film or TV productions.
