Baliwag Lechon

Company Logo

In November 1985, when the Lechon Manok craze was sweeping the nation, Dwight and Dolores Salcedo pooled P5,000 from their savings and borrowed another P5,000 from their parents to put up their own kiosk.

They named it Baliwag Lechon Manok, after Dolores’ hometown of Baliwag, Bulacan.

Over the years, they have added other well-loved items into their menu such as liempo and chicharon. They have also expanded their food business to include restaurants and fast food outlets.

The simple and grounded ways with which the couple has handled their business have allowed Baliwag to become one of the most iconic Filipino brand names nearly 25 years after it was started and, God willing, for decades more.

If you ever needed to have a full, quick and filling meal or if you wanted to buy from one of those grilled/roasted chicken and liempo.

But wondered if they had eat-in or dine-in. Well for fans of Baliwag Lechon Manok and Liempo. Look no further. At the corner of Eulogio Rodriguez Avenue corner Balete Drive in Quezon City there is one such place.

Dine-in offers not only their lechon manok or their liempo, they also have some known viands or dishes like pork sisig, sigang na bangus and chopsuey.

When we are tired from work and want some home made style cooking this is where we go to. Their dining is spacious and have either air-conditioned or open-air dining. They are not exactly fast food, because it takes some time for your order to arrive.

Over all dining experience is not bad. And does not come with the harassment that comes with eating inside malls or crowded food areas. At P 1,025 for our party of 5 (2 adults, 2teens and 1 10year old), I would say our last dine-in was not really bad for the amount we paid for.

Some things to note:

  • There is usually ample parking, sometimes it gets a little full on Sundays. Parking is at almost 45degree angle. Be careful backing-up as there are vehicles alighting and turning right to E. Rodriguez from Balete Drive.

  • Liempo and Lechon Manok are roasted outside and don’t usually take that long to get to your table.

  • Aircon temperature is just right.

  • Service is not bad.
